Changes to User Choice Funding now make it more attractive than ever for businesses to take on existing staff as apprentices or trainees.

Some recent news has come through from the Queensland Department of Education and Training that has us excited!

Students studying Allied Health are your future. By employing a school-based trainee now, you will be better prepared for anticipated industry growth.

It is an exciting time for businesses around the state. The Queensland Government recently announced that they will double the payroll tax rebate for businesses that employ an apprentice or trainee.

If you employ a jobseeker in a role located outside South East Queensland, you may be eligible for Employer Support Payments. If your business is located in an eligible region you can access a Back to Work Employer Officer who will work with you to access information and support and create new job opportunities.

A group of 175 talented apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers, trainers and employers have been announced as the 2016 Queensland Training Awards regional finalists.

Selected from a field of over 660 nominees across the State, the regional finalists displayed outstanding achievements in their individual categories.

Queensland based education, training and employment provider, MRAEL has joined the national IntoWork Australia group of companies.

This partnership will enhance and improve employment opportunities. The IntoWork Group of businesses now employs over 600 staff, and thousands of apprentices, trainees and labour hire staff. Employment services and Australian Apprenticeship Support Services are offered across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania and now with the MRAEL joining, expands its reach across Queensland.

Young Australians who secure employment and remain off welfare payments for a minimum of 12 months may be eligible for up to $6,500 in incentive payments through the Australian Government’s Job Commitment Bonus.

The Job Commitment Bonus will provide a payment of $2,500 to eligible young Australians aged 18 to 30 who have been on Newstart Allowance or Youth Allowance (as a job seeker) for 12 months or more, if they secure a job and remain off welfare for a continuous period of 12 months.

Local company, MRAEL Group, has been announced as one of the Providers for the Australian Government’s new Skills Checkpoint for Older Workers Pilot Program.

The Skills Checkpoint Pilot, which commences immediately, is a free career advisory service offered to employed individuals aged 45 to 54 years. The service will assess where individuals are in their careers and offer guidance if a change in career direction is needed or desired.
